Piller’s pepperoni recalled due to undelcared wheat

OTTAWA – A recall of Piller’s Sub Pac Classic and Sliced Pepperoni products has been issued because they contain wheat that’s not declared on the label.

The products were sold across Canada in varying size packages with best before dates ranging from Sept. 11 to Dec. 13.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the products, which could pose a serious or even deadly threat to people allergic to wheat or sensitive to gluten.

Piller’s Fine Foods, Waterloo, Ont. issued a voluntary recall which is being monitored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
