Smith with four points to lead the Blazers over the Ice 6-3

CRANBROOK, B.C. – Colin Smith scored once and set up three more as the Kamloops Blazers defeated the host Kootenay Ice 6-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Tim Bozon and JC Lipon each had two goals and an assist for the Blazers (12-0-1), who are the only team remaining in the WHL without a regulation-time loss, and Sam Grist added a single goal.

Jaedon Descheneau led the Ice (4-6-0) offensively with a goal and an assist as Collin Shirley and Brock Montgomery each scored once.

Cole Cheveldave made 22 saves for the win while Mackenzie Skapski stopped 23 shots in a losing cause.

Kamloops went 2-for-3 on the power play. Kootenay scored once on six chances with the man advantage.
