Construction company says Winnipeg football stadium built as ordered

WINNIPEG – The construction company that built Winnipeg’s new football stadium is standing behind its work.

The CEO of Stuart Olson Dominion says his company is not to blame for alleged drainage issues and other problems at Investors Group Field.

David LeMay says stadium owner Triple B and the provincial government did not give the builder enough time or money.

Triple B is suing the construction company.

Stuart Olson says in its statement of defence that Triple B and the government approved the design without regard for potential problems.

None of the allegations on either side has been proven in court

LeMay says the stadium was built to the specifications of Triple B.

“What we’re saying is we built what the owner ordered. We’re proud of our work. We stand behind it, and we’re proud of the building that was built,” LeMay told a news conference Friday.

The $209-million stadium, which is now home to the CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers, was completed in 2013.
