3 members of same family killed in remote part of Guyana
GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Police say three members of the same family have been killed on a remote savanna near Guyana’s southeastern border.
Authorities report that the bodies of 37-year-old Pawan Chandradeo, his 16-year-old son Jaikarran Chandradeo and his 35-year-old brother-in-law Naresh Rooplall were discovered Friday afternoon by a passing farmer in an area called Mibicuri. The mostly rice- and vegetable-growing area is about 110 miles from the capital of Georgetown.
The trio had left on a fishing trip the day before.
The three appeared to have been executed at point blank range because each had a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police spokesman Wendell Blanhum said Saturday he could not provide more details or a motive for the killings.
