LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Latest on the shooting deaths of a mother and daughter in Long Beach. (all times local):

Police have identified the mother and 4-year-old daughter who were shot to death near their Long Beach home.

Police said Sunday that 26-year-old Carina Mancera and her daughter, Jennabel Anaya, were gunned down while walking to their home.

The shootings late Saturday night are being investigated as murders.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward.

The two were shot while walking from their car with the girl’s father.

The mother died at the scene, and the girl died from her wounds at a hospital Sunday morning.

Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a 26-year-old mother and her 4-year-old daughter near their Long Beach home.

Police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt says the two were fatally shot Saturday night.

Pratt says there are no suspects, and police are seeking help from the public to solve the killings.

Witnesses told local television stations that the two had returned from the grocery store with the woman’s husband and were walking from their car when the shooting occurred.

The mother died at the scene, and the girl died from her wounds at a hospital.

Pratt says the crime was not believed to be a drive-by shooting.
