Match between Toronto FC and Houston postponed until Sunday because of weather

HOUSTON – Saturday night’s MLS match between Toronto FC and the Houston Dynamo has been postponed because of weather.

The match will now be played on Sunday night with a 9:15 p.m. EDT start time.

Neither squad was able to begin warmup as lightning was seen over top of BBVA Compass Stadium.

League officials waited three hours hoping for the lightning to clear and the skies to open up so that the match could be started, but it never happened.

TFC (10-7-6) is currently tied for second place in the Eastern Conference with the New York Red Bulls. The Dynamo (4-10-8) are dead last in the Western Conference.

Toronto has won a season-high four straight, but have just three victories all season (3-6-3) on the road. TFC has not won away from BMO Field since a 2-0 victory in Montreal on April 23.
