Runners gather in Massachusetts to remember slain woman

PRINCETON, Mass. – Runners have gathered to remember a New York City woman who was found dead a week ago after she went for a run near her mother’s Massachusetts home.

Family, friends and community members met Sunday night in Princeton, a rural town west of Boston, for a 3-mile run in honour of Vanessa Marcotte.

The 27-year-old Google account manager was found dead last Sunday night hours after she went for a run near her mother’s Princeton home.

Investigators believe she was attacked by a man and may have injured him in a struggle.

Authorities say they’ve received hundreds of tips but don’t have any suspects. They’re urging residents in the area to remain vigilant.
