Police: Man steals $1,000 worth of newspapers for coupons

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A Pennsylvania man is accused of stealing nearly $1,000 worth of newspapers for the coupons.

Upper Macungie Township police say 25-year-old Dion Scheirer stole approximately 160 bundles of newspapers from The Morning Call earlier this month and gave them to a third party who sells coupons in bulk around the region.

Police say the newspaper lost $965 in revenue as a result of the theft.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify who the Allentown man tried to sell the papers to.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
