Man faces abduction charges following Amber Alert in Saskatchewan

LA RONGE, Sask. – RCMP have charged a man in the abduction of two children following an Amber Alert in Saskatchewan.

Mounties say a boy was picked up on Wednesday by a man driving a silver van near La Ronge and officers received information that there could be another boy with them.

Police say they issued the Amber Alert when they learned a suspect was under a court order not to have contact with children under the age of 16.

The boys were found early Thursday and police arrested a man.

Jarrod Charles, who is 18, is charged with two counts of abducting a person under 14 and two counts of not following a court order.

RCMP say there is no indication the boys, who are 8 and 10, were physically injured.
