HALIFAX – Halifax has been chosen host of the 2016 Canadian figure skating championships.
Three-time world champion Patrick Chan will headline the Jan. 18-24 event at the Scotiabank Centre, marking the fourth time the east coast city has hosted the championships.
The 1983, 1997 and 2004 championships were held in Halifax.
Chan is returning to competition after taking a season off. He’ll be joined by world pairs champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, two-time world ice dance medallists Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, and 2014 national women’s singles champion Kaetlyn Osmond, who missed last season due to injury.
