Stabbing reported outside Salmon Arm convenience store
SALMON ARM – There was a stabbing at a convenience store in the Shuswap on the weekend, but so far no information has been released by the RCMP.
A man was allegedly stabbed at Mellor's Lucky Dollar Foods in the Ranchero neighbourhood on Saturday, Jan. 30, after the store was closed, according to a clerk.
The clerk, who only wants her first name used, says the victim of the attack stopped in the store yesterday afternoon after he was released from hospital.
“He was pretty beat up, cut up and said something about 40 stitches in his side,” she says. “It’s still unclear what happened. We don’t know anything."
Melody says RCMP officers came to the scene, but wouldn’t tell her what happened.
A spokesperson for Salmon Arm RCMP was not immediately available for comment.
