Police seek tips in Vernon hobby store break-in

VERNON – Only two items were taken from a Vernon hobby shop during a weekend break-in, but they amounted to a significant dollar loss.

Police say an unknown man broke in through the back door of Lester’s Hobby Shop on 27 Street around 12:15 a.m., Jan. 31.

“The male stole two remote controlled 4×4 style vehicles, valued at approximately $600 each,” Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.

The shop had video surveillance, but it wasn’t working properly, Noseworthy says. Police were able to determine from the video the suspect is male, but couldn’t get any other physical description.

Anyone with information is asked to call Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
