Norwegian Air temporarily suspends some NY ticket sales

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Norwegian Air says it will temporarily suspend new ticket sales on routes served by its currently grounded fleet of Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, including routes run between New York Stewart International Airport and Europe.

The carrier also released a temporary schedule on Monday to accommodate already booked customers between March 31 and April 10.

The Times Herald-Record reports the airline plans to re-adjust the schedule in coming weeks if aviation authorities continue the ban.

Since the Max 8s were grounded two weeks ago, Norwegian has used a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for its daily flights between Stewart and Dublin, Ireland.

Norwegian Air says its flights between Stewart and Edinburgh, Scotland will cease at the end of the month.
