FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A highway link between Flagstaff and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon has reopened after being closed due to smoke from a prescribed burn in a national forest.
The state Department of Transportation says a 12-mile stretch of U.S. 180 north of Flagstaff reopened Wednesday morning after being closed Tuesday afternoon because of low visibility.
Traffic between the South Rim and Flagstaff was able to use Interstate 40 and State Route 64 during the closure.
