Nova Scotia court staff nauseous, dizzy after suspicious package delivered

AMHERST, N.S. – Four employees at a courthouse in Amherst, N.S., were released from hospital Monday after complaining of nausea, dizziness and burning to the throat following the delivery of a suspicious package.

Nova Scotia’s Justice Department says the package originated from Hong Kong.

Amherst police Chief Ian Naylor says the package was seized by police and is being examined by the RCMP.

He says the initial investigation indicates the incident may be related to similar packages received at five provincial courts in Manitoba on April 8.

All of the tests for dangerous chemicals in Manitoba were negative.
