LOS ANGELES – Police will not seek charges against a man test driving a car at the Los Angeles Auto show who crashed it into a concrete planter and injured himself and five others.

The impact sent shards from the planter flying but Officer Sal Ramirez says investigators determined Monday’s crash was an accident.

Paramedics evaluated eight people and took six including the driver to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.

Ramirez said Tuesday that the driver lost control of the Fiat 500e.

Its windshield was cracked and the hood damaged in the crash.

Messages to auto show representatives seeking comment were not immediately returned.

The auto show says on its website that attendees who want to test-drive cars must have a valid driver’s license and sign a liability waiver.
