Puerto Rico policeman charged with burning, shooting dog

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – A police officer in Puerto Rico was arrested for allegedly throwing boiling water on a dog and killing it with a BB gun, officials said Friday.

Roberto Sepulveda, a 40-year-old police officer with the maritime division in the southern coastal town of Guayama, was charged with animal abuse.

He was released Friday on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.

It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Police said the dog had apparently trespassed into Sepulveda’s property.
