CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Authorities say a central Alabama man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend in front of several children, including their own child, at a birthday party.
The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that 23-year-old Tre’Querius Marquez is accused of killing 23-year-old Jackie Dogen after an argument between the two at the Sadie Lee Holmes housing community in Childersburg on Sept. 14. Twyman is also charged with second degree assault.
Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore says an officer was struck by gunfire and suffered non-life threatening injuries when Twyman fired shots at arriving officers. Twyman was also wounded after he exchanged gunfire with officers near the initial scene.
Twyman is being held on a $1 million bond. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
