CHASE – The young man who died after his dirt bike collided with a semi trailer near Chase this past weekend has been identififed.
He was Austin Logan Schmidt, 19, of Chase.
Schmidt’s dirt bike was involved in a head-on collision with a tractor trailer on Highway 1 Saturday, Feb. 6. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate the death.
A celebration of life is scheduled for the teen at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Adams Lake Gymnasium in Chase. Attendees are asked to not wear black.
