Police release video of Kobe Bryant memorabilia theft

ARDMORE, Pa. – Authorities in suburban Philadelphia are asking for help from the public in identifying two people who stole Kobe Bryant memorabilia from his high school.

Lower Merion Township police released surveillance video of the theft of items from a display case outside the Bryant Gymnasium at Lower Merion High School.

Township police were called Sunday evening after the thieves busted a lock on the display case and took the former NBA star’s framed high school jersey, several pairs of signed Nike sneakers and the 1996 state championship trophy and net.

School officials say the items have little monetary value. The jersey is a replica of the one worn by the Los Angeles Lakers legend as a student.

Anyone with information is asked to call township detectives.
