Penticton to crank the bass

PENTICTON – The foundation of the South Okanagan Events Centre will be rumbling on the Thanksgiving long weekend when the Safe in Sound Festival makes one of only three Canadian stops in Penticton.

Some of the biggest DJ’s from the electronic bass music scene will be dropping the chest pounding beats Sunday, Oct 12.

Destroid, Flux Pavilion and Doctor P are just some of the artists in the line-up for the festival which is scheduled to hit 20 North American cities.

Two of the members of Destroid are Okanagan natives so it will be a bit of a homecoming for Jeff Abel, a.k.a. DJ Excision, and DJ Downlink.

PK Sound will be debuting it’s brand new 150,000 watt sound rig for the tour. The company has done the sound for the likes of Skrillex, Excision and the Shambhala Music Festival.

Destroid’s KJ Sawka says in a media release, people are going to lose it when they find out this is the first ever touring bass music festival of this caliber and the first time my PK family unleashes their brand new sound system.

Tickets went on sale Friday and are available at the Valley First Box Office, the Wine Country Visitor Centre, www.valleyfirsttix.com or by phone at 1-877-763-2849.

General admission tickets for the all ages and licensed event are $59.95 with VIP tickets selling for $99.95 plus service charges.
