Man convicted in drug-related double murder in B.C.; 3rd conviction in case

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – A 28-year-old man has become the third person to be convicted in a drug-related double murder in B.C. more than three years ago.

A B.C. Supreme Court jury in New Westminster found Robert Bradshaw guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in the killings linked to a dial-a-dope operation.

Bradshaw gets an automatic life term with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Thirty-six-year-old Laura Lamoureux was shot to death in Langley in March of 2009 and 33-year-old Marc Bontkes (bont-keys) was killed five days later in Surrey.

Bradshaw’s accomplice, Roy Michael Thielen, pled guilty last fall to two counts of second-degree murder and is also serving a life term with no possibility of parole for 20 years.

Michelle Motola was convicted for manslaughter for her involvement in the murder of Bontkes and is serving a six-year sentence.
