Fatal motorcycle collision in Vernon

VERNON – A crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Highway 97 in Vernon’s north end last night claimed the life of the person riding the bike.

RCMP say the collision happened on Highway 97 just north of 48 Avenue.

The road between 48 Avenue and 27 Street was closed for several hours while a collision reconstructionist investigated, according to a RCMP media release.

Police aren’t releasing any more information about the crash, including the identity of the person who was killed.

They do ask anyone who witnessed the collision, and haven’t yet spoken to the RCMP, to call the Vernon detachment at 250-545-7171.
