West Kelowna Warriors edge visiting Rivermen

WEST KELOWNA – Quin Foreman's goal in the second period stood up as the winner, and Matthew Greenfield made 38 saves as the West Kelowna Warriors rebounded with a 3-2 win over the Langley Rivermen on Friday night, Feb. 13, at Royal LePage Place.

West Kelowna got on the board in the opening period on a highlight reel goal from Brett Mennear, sending the crowd into a frenzy as he beat the Langley defense and went upstairs on the backhand past Bo Didur to make it 1-0.

The Rivermen responded in the middle frame, tying the game on a bank shot from below the goal line, before Scott Allan's wrister from the point eluded Didur just four minutes later.

Foreman's one-timer from the circle off a Rylan Yaremko pass made it 3-1 for the Warriors, as the 956 fans in attendance went nuts for the marker.

Langley got within one in the third period, but Greenfield shut the door, including a huge pad save while the Warriors were short-handed.

West Kelowna sealed down the defensive zone to finish off the victory.
