Public asked to comment on Silver Star development plans

VERNON – Public feedback is being sought for a large development proposal at Silver Star Mountain Resort.

The plan includes the addition of three new ski terrain pods, roughly 2,000 new bed units in the village and West Knoll areas, and new and expanded year-round attractions. There would be no change to the controlled recreation area.

According to a government release, Silver Star submitted the proposal to the Mountain Resorts Branch for review and approval.

The public is invited to provide input on the plan at an open house on Feb. 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the National  Altitude Training Centre auditorium in the Silver Star Mountain Resort village. Presentations are scheduled for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Comments can also be e-mailed to Tori.Meeks@gov.bc.ca, using the subject line ‘Silver Star Comments.’
