VANCOUVER – BC Hydro says the last 35 customers who remained in the dark after a New Year’s Eve snowstorm that caused massive power outages have had their service restored.
It says those 35 customers in the Johnsons Landing area of Lardeau Valley got their power back shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.
The storm initially left 160,000 customers without electricity.
Parts of the province remained under a snowfall warning on Saturday.
Environment Canada says more snow is expected along the 120-kilometre stretch of the Coquihalla highway between Hope and Merritt.
Snow was also expected Monday along the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kelowna, Allison Pass between Hope and Princeton, along Highway 3 between Paulson Summit and Kootenay Pass, and the Sea-to-Sky Highway from Squamish to Whistler.
