NANAIMO, B.C. – Police say a fatal shooting at a hotel in Nanaimo, B.C., appears to be targeted.
Const. Gary O’Brien says in a news release that officers were called to the Howard Johnson Hotel early Wednesday morning.
He say officers arrived to find a man dead in the hotel lobby of apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Police say a vehicle was stopped about an hour after the attack and one man was taken into custody.
O’Brien says because the shooting appeared to be targeted investigators do not believe there is any risk to the public.
