UPDATE: Man injured in ‘altercation’ outside Kelowna restaurant died today

UPDATE: Police reported at 7:59 p.m. the man sent to hospital in the altercation died in hospital from his injuries. No other information was released, including his identity.

Specifically, police did not specify further about the "incident" and whether or not this is homicide investigation.

KELOWNA – Police are releasing few details about an incident outside a Kelowna restaurant last night, which sent a man to hospital in serious condition.

RCMP say they were called to the Cactus Club on Banks Road around 9 p.m., Feb. 17, to a report of a man in medical distress laying on the sidewalk.

The 30-year-old Ontario man was unconscious when officers arrived and was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital in serious condition, according to an RCMP media release.

He remains in hospital in serious condition, police say.

Police won’t say how the victim was hurt and will only say he was involved in an 'altercation.'

Investigators are 'actively following up on leads,' RCMP say.
