Lacquette in, injured Rougeau out on Canadian roster for Four Nations Cup
CALGARY – Defenceman Brigette Lacquette has replaced injured Lauriane Rougeau on Canada’s roster for next week’s Four Nations Cup women’s hockey tournament in Viermumaki, Finland.
Rougeau is recovering from an unspecified injury she sustained at the national team’s September camp in Calgary, according to a Hockey Canada statement Wednesday
The 26-year-old from Beaconsfield, Que., is a six-year veteran of the Canadian team and won Olympic gold in 2014.
Lacquette, a 23-year-old from Mallard, Man., played for Canada at both the 2015 and 2016 world championships.
Canada opens the annual international women’s hockey tournament Nov. 1 versus host Finland. Defending champion United States and Sweden are also in the field.
The Canadian team will also play the Finns in an exhibition game Sunday.
Note to readers: This is a corrected story. A previous version misspelled Lacquette’s first name
