Kelowna Rockets outscore visiting Giants

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 6-5 on Friday night, Feb. 19, at Prospera Place in Kelowna coming from behind to earn its 41st win of the season.

Rourke Chartier scored a pair of goals as the Rockets erased a 4-1 deficit and raced back for the win.

Kelowna improved to 41-15-3-0 on the season to remain in first place overall in the WHL.

The Rockets trailed 4-1 until late in the second period when they scored twice to make the score 4-3 through two periods of play.

Cole Linaker, Tyson Baillie, Joe Gatenby and Tomas Soustal also scored for Kelowna.

Michael Herringer earned the win in net as Kelowna outshot Vancouver 41-33 on the game.

The Rockets and Giants will meet again tomorrow night in Vancouver in the back half of their home and home series. Kelowna returns to Prospera Place next Saturday night when they host Spokane.
