RCMP investigating death of UBC Okanagan student

KELOWNA – Both the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are looking into the death of a UBC Okanagan student in Kelowna last night.

Gurpreet Gavin Singh Dhaliwal, 21, of Kelowna was visiting friends at a home off campus when he went into medical distress around 9:30 p.m., Feb. 21.

His friends called 911 but Dahliwal could not be resuscitated, according to a media release from the coroners service.

He lived in residence at the university campus.

The cause and manner of death are under investigation by the RCMP and the coroners service.
