Vernon teen arrested in connection to Rutland shooting

KELOWNA – RCMP have arrested a suspect in the shooting at a Kelowna convenience store last week.

On Monday, Feb. 15, a 46-year-old man was shot outside the 7-Eleven in Rutland. At the time, police said it was drug related and local residents need not fear for their safety.

A 17-year-old youth from Coldstream was arrested in Vernon last night, Feb. 21, in connection with the shooting, RCMP said today, Feb. 22, in a press release.

The youth, who is in custody, will appear in court tomorrow to face several firearms related and breach of court order charges.
