PENTICTON – A couple of tree trimmers who got caught up in their work needed some assistance from the Penticton Fire Department today.
The fire service was called at around 2 p.m., Feb. 22, after two tree trimmers became stranded when their boom truck apparatus malfunctioned, leaving them stranded about 9 metres in the air at a property on Skaha Place, according to witness reports.
The firefighters couldn’t utilize their own ladder truck because because of the location of the boom truck, but were able to get the controls on the stricken apparatus to work after a few minutes of troubleshooting.
The two men were lowered safely to the ground, with no injuries reported.
