Vernon students surprise peers with hundreds of pink post-it notes
VERNON – Some Vernon high school students have put a personal touch on Pink Shirt Day.
Hundreds of pink post-it notes brightened the hallways at Vernon Secondary School this morning, Feb. 24.
Each of the nearly 1,000 post-its left on every locker in the school had a handwritten compliment on it.
According to Global Okanagan, the students behind the notes are Shaugnessy Barker and Courtney Becker, who say they wanted to make everyone feel loved today.
The students also launched a Twitter profile, @positivepostvss to spread the positive vibes. They’re inviting everyone to post a compliment with the hashtag #positivepostnotes.
Pink Shirt Day is an awareness day aimed at getting people to wear pink and take a stand against bullying.
