Woman facing charges for hit and run in Vernon last fall
VERNON – Charges have been laid in connection with a hit and run last October that left a cyclist injured and caused a large power outage in Vernon.
Natasha Louise Faythe Perry, born in 1986, faces charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop at an accident scene and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in relation to the Oct. 11, 2015 incident on 43 Street. Perry is also charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and mischief causing danger to life or property.
Police said the incident happened around 5 a.m. when a vehicle struck a cyclist, then went off the road and severed a power pole, causing a large portion of Vernon to lose power.
Perry is due in Vernon Provincial Court today, Feb. 25, for a first appearance on the set of charges.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
