KELOWNA – An early morning fire at a boarded up house in Rutland has been deemed suspicious.
Smoke was reported coming from an abandoned house in the 600-block of Rutland Road North shortly after 2 a.m. today, Feb. 26. When crews arrived they found a fire in the basement, Kelowna Fire Department Platoon Capt. Steve Wallick says in a release.
The fire, which Wallick says has been deemed suspicious, was extinguished and an investigation into the cause will now take place.
In total 17 fire personnel responded along with RCMP, ambulance and Fortis B.C.
