Discounted rain barrels can now be ordered in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Discounted rain barrels are officially coming to Kamloops and residents can now pre-order them.

The city has partnered with Enviro World, an Ontario-based business, to offer Kamloops residents rain barrels.

The barrels will be offered through the City of Kamloops website until April 15 and can then be picked up at the Green Living Expo on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At $55, the barrels are priced lower than major Canadian retail websites. The city website says they are half-priced

The rain barrels will have been treated to be insect resistant and are built to be child and animal proof.

The water collected can be used for a variety of purposes, such as watering lawns or gardens. It also has environmental benefits and over the long term, people who regularly use the collected water should see an impact on their water bill as well.

People can purchase more than one barrel. If demand is low for rain barrels, the city may not offer the service again.
