
Semi crash on Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Kamloops
LOGAN LAKE – A semi crashed on the Coquihalla Highway near Logan Lake closing the northbound lanes for a few hours this morning.
According to Ken Wills who was travelling on Highway 5 around 6:45 a.m., March 3, saw a FedEx semi truck and its trailer laying across the highway.
"The road just froze solid," he says. "I was second on scene. An air ambulance arrived probably under 20 minutes."
Wills says the two men in the semi were conscious and appeared to have suffered minor injuries.
One person in stable condition was taken to hospital in a ground ambulance, according to a spokesperson from B.C. Emergency Health Services.
The northbound lanes were closed about 10 kilometres south of the junction with Highway 97D and reopened at about 9 a.m. Detours were available during the closure.
Central Interior Traffic Services and Logan Lake RCMP were unavailable for comment.
