Esentire chooses Ireland for new European cybersecurity headquarters

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – Canadian cybersecurity firm Esentire Inc. has picked Ireland for its new European headquarters.

The global corporate security company, based in Cambridge, Ont., says it will open a security operations centre in Cork, Ireland, as it grows its presence overseas.

Esentire provides 24-hour hacker protection to corporate clients across the globe, with technology that traces suspicious activity and prevents it from causing further security breaches.

The company’s services cover a broad array of large- and mid-sized businesses in the financial industry, heath care, mining and legal services.

Chief executive J. Paul Haynes says the company chose Cork because its profile was similar to the Waterloo region technology hub where it was founded in 2001.

Esentire plans to open the new Ireland facility in the fall.
