TNRD Hosts Open Houses for Mosquito Service

KAMLOOPS – The Tompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is hosting two open houses to provide information about the new Nuisance Mosquito Control service for the Upper and Lower Nicola areas.

The open houses will also provide opportunities for the public to identify problem mosquito areas.

The open houses will take place at the following times and locations:
– Monday, March 7, 6:30 p.m. (presentation at 7 p.m.) at the Lower Nicola Hall, 382 Aberdeen Rd.

– Tuesday, March 8, 6:30p.m. (presentation at 7 p.m.)  at the Quilchena Hotel, Highway 5A

Light refreshments will be provided at the open house events.

Mosquito control has been conducted by the TNRD for more than 40 years. This new service in Electoral Areas “M” and “N” will help reduce nuisance mosquitoes by controlling mosquito larval populations before they become adults.

If you would like more information or if you would like to report a heavily mosquito infested site, please call the mosquito hotline at 250-372-5700 or email mosquitocontrol@tnrd.ca.
