Winnipeg man accused of leaving toddlers alone on doorstep for hours
WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man is accused of leaving his two toddlers alone on a doorstep on a cold, rainy evening.
Police say the man went to a home in the city’s north end on Oct. 20 to turn the kids over to a relative.
No one was home, so police say the man left the kids, both under two years old, on the front stoop.
Police say officers waited several hours at the scene and no adults came to check on the kids.
A 24-year-old man is facing two charges of child abandonment.
Police have not released the man’s name because charges have not yet been formally laid.
