
Penticton firefighters put out burning minivan
PENTICTON – Penticton firefighters doused a minivan fire yesterday morning.
Fire Chief Larry Watkinson says the department was called out at about 11:45 a.m., March 7, to the intersection of Government Street and Forestbrook Drive where fire crews found a minivan with fire and smoke coming from under the hood.
Firefighters were able to quench the blaze with a handline. Members of the RCMP were also on scene to secure the incident zone.
Everyone escaped safely from the vehicle with no injuries.
It’s unknown what caused the blaze.
