TORONTO – Canadian comedy star Jay Baruchel is joining the hit hoser series “Letterkenny.”
CraveTV says the Montreal actor-filmmaker has a feature role as Hard Right Jay, “a tiki torch-carrying out-of-towner who stirs things up” in the small Ontario town.
He’ll be in a new batch of six episodes that will launch on CraveTV next year.
Social media phenom Evan Breen will play the role of Straight Edge Eric, Jay’s trusty sidekick.
Returning faces include “Alias Grace” star Sarah Gadon, who will reprise her role as mysterious Gae.
And Jacob Tierney will once again direct and reprise his role as Christian leader Glen.
“My three years worth of guilt tripping everyone I know on that show has finally paid off!” Baruchel tweeted on Wednesday.
Shot in and around Sudbury, Ont., “Letterkenny” stars Jared Keeso and Nathan Dales as best buds in a small town.
CraveTV and show producers New Metric Media recently announced a multi-year partnership that includes the production of more than 40 new episodes.
Meanwhile, the “Letterkenny Live!” tour will hit 30 cities, starting Feb. 27, 2018 in Halifax, with plans to extend into the U.S.
