
Suspicious man sought by police after trying to pick up teenage girl in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS – The search is on for a man who demanded a 17-year-old girl get into his vehicle this afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after noon today, March 8, near Springhill Place and Springhill Drive in the Sahali area. RCMP say a man drove past the teenager, who was waiting at a bus stop, then did a U-turn and came back to her. He lowered his passenger side window and asked if she wanted a ride but when she declined he yelled at her to get in the car several times.
The man is described as Caucasian with a ‘bit of a tan’, is approximately 30 years old and weighs about 170 lbs. He has short brown hair and was wearing a dark, short sleeve V-neck shirt and large aviator style sunglasses.
He was driving a white four-door Ford Escort with B.C.-coloured license plates.
The suspect took off when another vehicle pulled onto the street.
The girl was not harmed but was shaken by the encounter.
