One dead after single vehicle accident

KAMLOOPS – A 74-year-old woman from Logan Lake was killed in a car crash on Lac Le Jeune Road near Kamloops Tuesday.

RCMP are just reporting today that the accident, around 5 p.m. Tuesday, is still being investigated. Speed and alcohol are not considered factors. The vehicle was found near Chuwels Mountain Road and police and firefighters had to be guided to the scene by another driver.

They found the woman's truck veered over the centre line and off road before hitting a tree. She was taken to Royal Inland Hospital by helicopter but later died of her injuries.

Her name is not being released at this time by the RCMP.

The Logan Lake RCMP is requesting the assistance of the public and wish to speak to any witnesses to the collision or from anyone that rendered assistance to the driver. Investigators are aslo trying to locate a male witness who called for assistance and was driving a newer white Kenworth gravel truck towing a 26-30 foot long flat deck trailer. Please contact the Logan Lake RCMP at 250-523-6222
