Police identify Kelowna man stabbed to death in Rutland

KELOWNA – The man murdered in Kelowna Friday night has been identified, as the man accused of stabbing him to death appears in court.

Police say Waylon Percy Junior Jackson, 26, was rushed to hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed in the 100-block of Gerstmar Road in Rutland Friday, March 11.

Jackson had lost a lot of blood and was unresponsive, according to a RCMP media release, and succumbed to his injuries.

Police arrested Chad Colton Alphonse, 26, a short distance from the scene of the stabbing.

Alphonse is facing a charge of second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in Kelowna provincial court today, March 14.
