DJ from Kelowna on tour with Rihanna

KELOWNA – A Las Vegas DJ who grew up in Kelowna is touring with one of the biggest names in music.

KnowleDJ, whose real name Will Ramadan, is the official DJ for the Live Nation VIP parties that take place across North America just before Rihanna takes the stage.

Ramadan, who is fresh off another Live Nation tour with The Weeknd, says the tours are exciting but exhausting.

“It’s an insane schedule,” he says. “I don’t even know the number of cities we’ll be visiting.”

Live Nation is one of the biggest concert promoters in the world and are hosting Rihanna’s Anti-World Tour. Before each show, VIP guests are treated to a pre-show party with 300 to 400 other guests.

“They’re for the super fans, I guess you could call them,” Ramadan says.

With stops in Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, New York, Toronto and dozens of other cities, Ramadan says the Live Nation VIP gig is hectic, but one of the best ways to get your name out.

“It’s a tonne of fun,” he says. “I get to make a tonne of new fans so it works out really good. It’s also about getting into the best clubs in the world.”

Aside from touring with The Weeknd, Ramadan has also partnered up with legendary New York DJ Fatman Scoop to raise money for Syrians displaced by the civil war.

Ramadan and Rihanna will be performing in Vancouver April 23. For more info on KnowleDJ visit his Facebook page, for tickets visit the Live Nation website.
