Penticton police investigating odd break ins, including one very cold case

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating a trio of bizarre break and enters across the city including another theft of ice cream.

Penticton Hearing Aid Centre on Martin Street,  Madiera Stone on Fairview Road and Skaha Chiropractic on Skaha Lake Road had the glass removed from the main entrance doors in each business on the night of March 10.

Police media spokesperson Cpl. Ted Manchulenko says police are looking at video surveillance of one of the break ins to see if a suspect can be identified. He says the perpetrators may have been passing through town, as the three break ins are scattered across the city.

A laptop was reported missing from Madiera Stone, and a cashbox taken from Skaha Chiropractic.

Police are also looking for thieves with a craving for ice cream.

Manchulenko says several thousand dollars worth of high quality frozen dairy foods were taken from a warehouse located at 1860 Government Street sometime on the evening of March 13. Entry was gained through an empty portion of the warehouse. 

Police are looking at video surveillance of the incident as the investigation continues.

This isn't the first time police in the Okanagan were called to investigate theft of ice cream and theft from ice cream shops. They're becoming popular stops for thieves.
