4-vehicle crash kills one, injuries others and shuts Highway 16 in northern B.C.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – A four-vehicle crash on Highway 16 west of Prince George, B.C., has claimed at least one life and shut the highway indefinitely.

RCMP say the crash involved two commercial vehicles and two passenger vehicles.

Some of those involved in the accident needed be extracted from their vehicles by emergency crews.

Police say one person was declared dead at the scene.

It’s not clear how many people were involved in the crash.

The collision happened in Beaumont Provincial Park in Northern British Columbia, no far from Fort Fraser and about 130 kilometres west of Prince George.
