DeVos says she would have described NBC’s Todd differently

WASHINGTON – Education Secretary Betsy DeVos says she probably would have used language different than the vulgar phrase President Donald Trump deployed to describe an NBC News journalist.

Trump described “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd as a “sleeping son of a bitch” during a free-wheeling campaign rally he held in Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Asked about Trump’s comment during a “Today” show interview on Monday, DeVos said: “I would probably use different language myself, and I think we all have an opportunity and a responsibility to be examples to our kids.” DeVos said that “would include the president.”

DeVos was asked about the president’s comment during an interview about proposals the White House announced Sunday to combat gun violence in schools.
